With melty cheese, juicy pineapple and salty ham, it's no surprise my daughter requests my kabobs on her May birthday. They're a fantastic way to get into grilling season. -Helen Phillips, Horseheads, New York

1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 pound fully cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 pound Swiss cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 medium green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces, optional

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple, reserving 2 tablespoons juice; set pineapple aside. In a small bowl, mix marmalade, mustard, cloves and reserved pineapple juice. On eight metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread ham, cheese, pineapple and, if desired, green pepper., Place kabobs on greased grill rack. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat 5-7 minutes or until heated through, turning and basting frequently with marmalade sauce. Serve with remaining sauce.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed
1 can (20 ounces) unsweetened pineapple chunks
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 teaspoons brown sugar
1 pound fully cooked boneless ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 yellow summer squash, cut into 3/4-inch slices
2 large apples, cubed

Steps:

  • Place sweet potato in a small saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until almost tender. Drain and set aside. , Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set pineapple aside. In a small bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar and reserved juice. Place the ham, squash, apples, sweet potato and pineapple in a large resealable plastic bag; add the juice mixture. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 1 hour. , Drain and discard marinade. On eight metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread the ham, sweet potato, squash, apples and pineapple. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until apples are tender, turning occasionally.

1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1-1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
KABOBS:
2 pounds fully cooked boneless ham, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 large fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and cut into 1-in. cubes (about 4 cups)

Steps:

  • In a large shallow dish, combine the first 6 ingredients. Add ham; turn to coat. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Drain ham, reserving marinade. For glaze, pour marinade into a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5-7 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat., Meanwhile, on 12 metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread ham and pineapple; place in a foil-lined 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Brush with glaze. Bake, uncovered, 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

1-1/2 teaspoons Moroccan Spice (3 tsp. ground cinnamon, 2 tsp. ground cumin, 1 tsp. ground ginger, 1 tsp. turmeric)
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 Cook's® Bone-in Thick Cut Ham Steak (about 2 pounds)
4 ripe medium peaches, thinly sliced
3 ounces pea pods, cut into thin strips
2 tablespoons finely chopped red bell pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons stone ground mustard
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Dash ground red pepper
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Steps:

  • 1. Mix peaches, pea pods, bell peppers, mint, vinegar, sugar, mustard, 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, black pepper and red pepper in medium bowl until well blended; set aside.
  • 2. Spray cold grill grate with grilling spray. Prepare grill for medium heat. Combine cinnamon, cumin, ginger and turmeric in small dish.
  • 3. Cut ham steak into 1x3-inch strips; thread evenly onto water-soaked skewers. Sprinkle with the spice mixture; drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Grill 5 minutes on each side, or until ham is golden brown and reaches internal temperature of 160 degrees F when tested in center with meat thermometer.
  • 4. Spoon peach mixture onto serving platter; top with the kabobs.

  • Preheat grill for high heat.

1 lb. cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 (8-oz) can pineapple chunks in unsweetened juice, drained
8 cherry tomatoes
3/4 cup red currant jelly
1 tablespoon prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Heat grill. Alternately thread ham, pineapple and tomatoes onto four 10-inch metal skewers. In small microwave-safe bowl, combine jelly and mustard. Microwave on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes or until jelly melts. Stir to combine. Brush 3 to 4 tablespoons jelly mixture over kabobs.
  • When ready to grill, place kabobs on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 10 to 12 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning once. Serve with remaining jelly mixture.

Maple, Ham, & Pineapple Kabobs image

These quick and easy Maple, Ham and Pineapple Kabobs are packed with flavor and oh so easy! The perfect way to use up leftover ham!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup real maple syrup
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks or use fresh pineapple (our favorite way!)
2 cups of ham chunks - little leftover pieces of ham are perfect for this!
Skewers , metal or wooden
2 cups precooked rice (our favorite is Jasmine)

Steps:

  • GRILLED KABOBS:
  • If using bamboo skewers, soak for 15 - 30 minutes prior to filling with meat and fruit.
  • Prepare grill per grill specifications
  • Using a Kabob skewer, skewer pineapple and ham, alternating between the two.
  • Grill kabobs for 10 - 20 minutes on indirect flame flipping half way through allowing ham and pineapple to caramelize. You may need to do this in batches.
  • While kabobs cook, base with pure maple syrup, once per side.
  • When heated through, serve immediately over rice.
