Grilled Honey BBQ Chicken - Full of FLAVOR and a great recipe to jazz up grilled bbq chicken. Ready in 10 minutes, plus there's no cleanup!

1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup honey
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
1 to 3 tablespoons sriracha, optional and to taste
2 to 4 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
about 1.25 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts tenders
fresh cilantro or parsley, optional for garnishing

Steps:

  • To a large ziptop plastic bag, add all ingredients except the optional fresh herbs. Seal bag and squish the contents around so chicken is evenly coated.
  • Place bag in the fridge to marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight is great if you can plan ahead).*
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat (or indoor grill pan) and grill the chicken for about 7 minutes, or until done; flip intermittently to ensure even cooking. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
  • Chicken is best fresh but will keep airtight in the fridge for up to 5 days.

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 clove garlic, chopped
⅓ cup honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for medium heat.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, and cook until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Whisk in honey and lemon juice. Reserve half for basting, and brush the other half onto the chicken breasts.
  • Lightly oil the grill grate, and place chicken on the grill. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes per side, turning frequently. Baste often during the last 5 minutes. Chicken is done when the meat is firm, and juices run clear.

3/4 cup oil and vinegar salad dressing
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (6 ounces each)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Pour 1 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add the chicken. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 2 hours. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade., Drain and discard marinade. Lightly oil the grill rack. Grill chicken, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until a thermometer reads 170°, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.

3/4 C. white wine vinegar or lavender wine vinegar
1/4 C. grated lemon zest
1/2 C. fresh lemon juice
1/4 C. extra virgin olive oil
1/4 C. honey or lavender honey
1 T. dried culinary lavender
1 1/2 t. fresh lime juice
1 t. sea salt
1/4 t. black pepper
8 boneless chicken breasts

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix the vinegar, lemon zest, lemon juice, honey, lavender, lime juice, sale and pepper. Add chicken and coat. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Preheat a grill to medium. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place, skin side down, on the grill. Cook, turning every 5 minutes and brushing with the marinade,for 15 minutes or until no longer pink when tested with a sharp knife. Discard any remaining marinade.

  • Start with skinless boneless chicken breasts. Trim nicely. If you have time, brine in 2 cups water and 1 tablespoon salt for an hour or two. Be sure to rinse well after brining.
  • Mix the glaze of 2 tablespoons each of honey, soy sauce, lemon juice and olive oil. Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Mix well. Reserve 3/4 of the mixture for later.
  • Give each breast a little salt (if not brined) and pepper to taste then brush the glaze on both sides of the chicken.
  • Allow the chicken to rest at room temperature for 15 minutes (maximum) while cleaning oiling and preheating the grill to a surface temperature of about 450°-500°. Medium for me but probably medium-high for you.
