- Place 1 in. of water in a saucepan; add broccoli. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes or until crisp-tender., Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat the sesame oil, canola oil and red pepper flakes over medium heat for 2 minutes or until hot. Stir in the soy sauce, garlic, sugar and lemon juice. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat., Drain broccoli and transfer to a serving bowl. Pour garlic sauce over; toss to coat. Serve warm or chilled with a slotted spoon.

- Bring a medium pot of cold salted water to a boil. Cut the florets off the broccoli stems and then trim any tough parts off the stems and thinly slice crosswise. Add the broccoli florets and stems to the boiling water and cook until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water until cool. Pat dry.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat; add the garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until just beginning to brown, about 2 minutes. Transfer the garlic with a slotted spoon to a small bowl, leaving the olive oil behind.
- Add the broccoli to the skillet and sprinkle with the red pepper flakes. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring gently to avoid breaking up the broccoli too much, until it?s crispy at the edges, about 5 minutes. Return the garlic to the pan and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper.

- Place garlic in a mortar dish or on a cutting board, and sprinkle with salt. Mash with a pestle, or use the flat side of a knife to mash garlic and salt into a paste. Transfer to a medium bowl, and stir in olive oil, vinegar, and mustard. Add the broccoli, and stir to coat. Chill for 3 hours to marinate, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.

- Combine broth, sake, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch and sugar in a bowl & set aside.
- Heat a large nonstick wok or skillet over medium heat; add oil. Once the oil is warm, add garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Add the broccoli (and any other vegetables if desired) and stir-fry for 3 minutes or so, until slightly tender. Add the sauce mixture and stir constantly until sauce boils and thickens. - Steam the broccoli in a medium pot by bringing about 1 inch of water to a boil. Place the steamer basket with the cut broccoli in the pot. Cover and steam for about 3 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green, and firm-tender.
- Remove from heat and run the broccoli under cold water to stop the cooking process. Make sure the water drains out.
- Heat a medium-sized frying pan over medium heat. Add the oil, broth, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Heat for about 1 minute, until the sauce is very fragrant and bubbling.
