Here's a fast and simple way to grill chops in half an hour. Other fruit preserves can be easily substituted. These are also nice broiled in the oven. -Edie DeSpain, Logan, Utah

1/3 cup hickory smoke-flavored barbecue sauce
1/2 cup apricot or peach preserves
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
6 bone-in pork loin chops (3/4 inch thick and 8 ounces each)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, preserves, corn syrup, mustard and cloves; set aside., Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. On a lightly oiled grill, grill chops, covered, over medium heat or broil 4-5 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 145°, basting frequently with sauce mixture. Let meat stand for 5 minutes before serving.

1 1/2 tb Soy sauce
1 1/2 tb Lemon juice
1 tb Lemon peel finely shredded
1/4 c Orange marmalade (tart)
1/8 ts Anise seed
1/2 ts Ginger, ground
1/4 ts Allspice, ground
2 2" thick Lean Pork chops

Steps:

  • Servings: 2 Brown both sides of chops quickly in hot cooking oil. Place in shallow roasting pan and cook at 350 F for 40 minutes. Garlic-flavored cooking oil is made by immersing a peeled, halved large garlic-clove in 1 cup of vegetable cooking oil the day before use. Stir to mix all GLAZE ingredients well and let stand to blend while chops are roasting. After 40 minutes remove chops from oven, brush on glaze, turn chops and brush glaze on reverse side. Return to oven and continue cooking for an additional 35 to 45 minutes until meat is well done, basting at 15 minute intervals. Remove to serving platter and serve hot.

2 pork chops, 2" thick, lean and boneless
2 Tbsp cooking oil, garlic flavored
GLAZE INGREDIENTS
1/4 c orange marmalade
1 Tbsp lemon peel
1.5 Tbsp lemon juice
1.5 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp anise or fennel seeds
1/4 tsp allspice

Steps:

  • 1. Brown both sides of chops quickly in hot cooking oil.
  • 2. Place in shallow roasting pan and cook at 350 for 40 minutes.
  • 3. Garlic-flavored cooking oil is made by immersing a peeled, halved large garlic-clove in 1 cup of vegetable cooking oil the day before use.
  • 4. Stir to mix all GLAZE ingredients well and let stand to blend while chops are roasting.

I tried this honey-glazed pork chop recipe and my family loved it. It was a nice change from fried and regular baked chops. It's a new family favorite.

1 serving nonstick cooking spray
4 bone-in pork loin chops
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a baking dish with cooking spray. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • Coat a skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add chops to the hot skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes per side.
  • While the chops are browning, combine brown sugar and honey in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high until brown sugar has softened or melted, about 20 seconds. Stir to combine.
  • Transfer browned chops to the prepared baking dish and spoon 1/2 of the honey glaze evenly over top.
  • Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, turn over, and spread the remaining honey glaze over top. Bake until no longer pink in the center, 15 to 20 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
