Frito Pie ingredients on top of a hot dog! Can life get any better? I submit it cannot! These are great for the a Super Bowl party, BBQ or just a random act of gluttony There are only a few ingredients involved to make this recipe. Hot dogs are topped with chili, cheese and Frito corn chips (We're gonna throw on some onions and call it health food).

Ingredients

8 beef hot dogs, Hebrew national
8 hot dog buns
1 (15 ounce) can chili, Hormel (no beans)
1 (2 ounce) bag Frito corn chips
1 cup colby-monterey jack cheese, shredded
1/2 cup sweet onion, diced (optional)
2 tablespoons sour cream (optional)

Steps:

Heat outdoor grill to medium high heat. Add the hot dogs and cook until slightly charred and heated through.
Toast the buns by turning the grill to low and placing the buns cut side down onto the grill until lightly toasted. Spread buns lightly with sour cream if using.
In a medium sauce pan heat the chili over medium-high heat until hot.
Add the hot dogs to the buns. Top with chili, shredded cheese (use restraint). If you want to melt the cheese you can bake the hot dogs in the oven at 350 degrees on a baking sheet until the cheese has melted. Top with Fritos & onions.

Everyone will love these dogs stuffed with a delicious and crunchy mixture of chili, cheese and chips!

1 cup FRITOS® crushed corn chips
1 (15 ounce) can HORMEL® Chili No Beans
1 cup grated American cheese
½ cup chopped onion
10 frankfurter, (5 in long x 7/8 in dia, 8 per pound)s hot dogs
10 roll (blank)s hot dog buns

Steps:

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In bowl, combine corn chips, chili, cheese and onion. Split hot dogs lengthwise down the middle (but not completely through). Place chili filling down the center of each dog. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until warmed through. If desired, sprinkle with additional chips before serving.
