AIR FRYER PEPPERONI CHIPS



Air Fryer Pepperoni Chips image

Great on their own as a snack or an excellent tool for your favorite dip. My favorite dip to pair these with is spinach and artichoke dip. I also like to use them as a replacement for croutons in a salad. You get that crunch and they have so much flavor you can cut back on the dressing as well.

15 slices pepperoni (such as Hormel®)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 380 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Place pepperoni slices in the basket of the air fryer, making sure they are only slightly overlapping if need be.
  • Cook for 5 minutes. Using tongs, transfer slices to a paper towel-lined plate and let sit for 5 minutes for final crisping. Eat immediately or refrigerate and store in an air-tight container.

6 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Lay the pepperoni slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and soak up the excess grease by pressing paper towels against the pepperoni chips. Return the pan to the oven and bake an additional 2 to 4 minutes, until the pepperoni slices are very crispy.
  • Serve as a snack anytime or use in place of crackers for dipping or for topping with your favorite cheese! They'll stay fresh and crispy for 1 to 2 days if you store them in an airtight container.

I love panzerotti's cooked this way and ever since the pizza place that used to make them closed down I have been trying to figure out how to do them justice.I think I have come pretty close.Prep time will depend on whether you make your own dough. I use a bread maker which takes two hours for the dough.

1 lb pizza dough (store bought or homemade enough for large pizza)
1 (13 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
pepperoni
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In sauce pan combine tomato sauce, water, lemon juice and spices bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • While the sauce is simmering divide your dough into three parts then roll out each one making sure not to roll them out to thin.
  • Allow the dough to rest.
  • When sauce is ready add desired amount to middle of the pizza dough making sure to leave room around edge for folding.
  • Top with cheese and pepperoni.
  • Fold over and seal edges.
  • Preheat oil in deep fryer or large pot to 375.
  • Add panzerotti to heated oil cooking for 5 minutes then turn over and cook for another five.
  • Remove from oil and place on paper towel.
  • Let cool for a couple minutes before serving (leftover sauce can be used for dipping sauce).

1 (16-ounce) package hot roll mix
1/4 pound mozzarella cheese, cubed
1/4 pound pepperoni, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Prepare roll mix by package directions, omitting egg and using 1 cup water (no need for dough to rise). Place 1 cheese cube on 1 pepperoni slice. Shape pieces of dough carefully around cheese and pepperoni, forming balls. Fry in deep hot oil 5 minutes or till brown, turning once.
