CROCK POT CORNED BEEF WITH SAUERKRAUT AND PLUMS
I was craving some sauerkraut and had this lovely piece of corned beef so I searched and searched and couldn't find a recipe so made this one up. A tin of plums will do and the hot sauce is optional but it does give it a bit of kick. I stated Sweet Russian Mustard but the Sweet German will be fine too. I enjoyed it and hope you will too.

Steps:
- Rinse the meat under cold water and dry on paper towels.
- Mix together the sauerkraut, plums, mustard, Ketjap Manis and hotsauce.
- Place half the kraut mixture in the bottom of the crock pot, then put in the corned beef and top with remaining kraut mixture.
- Turn crock Pot to low and cook for 7 hours,.
- Slice and serve with grainy mustard and hot sauce on the side.

"CROCK POT CORNED BEEF
This is my version of Corned Beef and Cabbage for the Crock pot and it always turns out great. I like my method of cooking the cabbage outside of the crock pot at the end because it keeps the Cabbage from getting soggy and remains nice and crisp.

- You will need a large crock pot for this. Put the potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot, pierced once with a fork.
- Put the corned beef on top of the potatoes along with the juices from the bag.
- Run water in the bag and measure one cup and add to the pot.
- Quarter 3 medium sized onions and put on top of the meat and add carrots. Put lid on pot and cook on low 8-10 hours .
- Cut cabbage into about 6 wedges.
- Pour broth from crock pot over cabbage and steam until tender in a large frying pan 20 to 3o minutes.

- Combine the sour cream, sauerkraut, onion (if using) and garlic.
- Spread mixture onto bottom of 9x13-inch pan.

- Trim brisket of all visible fat, cut to fit 4 qt or larger crockpot, if necessary.
- Place onion, celery, potatoes and carrots in bottom of crockpot, lay brisket on top.
- Whisk together bouillon, bay leaf, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and dry mustard.
- Pour over brisket, cover pot.
- Cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, adding cabbage wedges and caraway seed for the last hour of cooking.

SIMPLE CORNED BEEF - CROCK POT
This corned beef is easy to prepare, and is so tasty you'll want to make it often. I like to serve it with Recipe #44013. If there are any leftovers, I slice it thinly and serve with mustard between slices of warm rye bread. Serving sizes will vary depending on the thickness of slices.

Steps:
- Remove beef from the plastic bag and rinse.
- Place onion slices in the bottom of the crock pot. Place beef on top.
- Add bay leaf, cloves and peppercorns.
- Mix together the water, mustard and sugar. Pour over the beef.
- Cover, and cook on High for approximately 5 hours.
- When cooked, remove from the broth and allow to rest (covered loosely with foil) for 15 minutes before slicing.
