CRANBERRY GINGER MARTINI
Steps:
- Get out a martini glass and shaker.
- Run the lime wedge around the edge of you glass (of dip the edge of the glass in lime juice) and then dip the glass in the glass rimmer.
- Add some ice to the martini shaker and pour in the vodka and the cranberry juice.
- Shake that puppy well.
- Pour into the glass and grate the fresh ginger right into the glass.
- Give it a little stir, top with the frozen cranberries and enjoy.

CRANBERRY MARTINIS

- Several days ahead, place the sugar, cranberries, 6 strips of orange zest, and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, until the cranberries start to pop open. Pour the vodka into a large pitcher, add the cranberry mixture, and store covered in the refrigerator for at least 2 days and up to 5 days.
- When ready to serve, strain the vodka mixture, reserving the cranberries and discarding the orange zest. Stir in the cranberry juice cocktail and Triple Sec. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the drink mixture, shake for a full 30 seconds (it's longer than you think!), and strain into martini glasses. Rub the rim of each glass with fresh orange zest, spoon a few cranberries into each glass, and serve ice cold.

- Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the spice blend; when the seeds start to crackle and toast, add the cranberries. Stir in the brown sugar, vinegar, ginger and chili powder. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook until the cranberries have softened and the liquid is reduced by half, about 15 minutes.
- Season the chutney with salt. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour. Serve chilled.

- Fill a cocktail shaker or small pitcher with ice.
- Add the vodka, ginger syrup, and lime juice.
- Cover and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready.)
