4 tablespoons cinnamon

1/2 cup rum

Steps:

1Mix apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. 2Mix in rum. 3Heat over medium heat until apple mixture is juicy and the juice boils. 4Boil for 20 minutes over medium heat. 5Enjoy! :).

This is a recipe I found that is supposed to be close to the side from Famous Dave's BBQ -- I just ADORED these apples with ribs...and I know they work well with ham dishes for holidays!! *recipe untried by me yet, hope it is close to them!! Yield is a guess.

7 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced
2 cups white sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
¼ cup spiced rum

Steps:

Stir apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a large saucepan. Pour rum into apple mixture and stir until apples are evenly coated and a thick sauce forms.
Bring apple mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook, stirring frequently, until apples are soft, about 20 minutes. Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
