Truffles are one of my favorite things. When I saw this recipe with truffles in cookies I jumped at the idea. I usually make the truffles for Christmas holidays and give as gifts but now I can add these cookies along with the truffles. I was surprised that it was so easy to make. Ingredients

2 stick softened margarine or butter
3/4 c granulated sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3, 1/2 c flour, all purpose
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 c chocolate chips
21 oreo cookies, crushed in food processor
3 oz cream cheese

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In an electric mixer beat butter and sugars until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. In a large bowl place flour, salt and baking soda and mix. Add to your wet ingredients in mixer. Then add your chocolate chips. After adding your chocolate chips just mix a short time to blend together.
2. Oreo Balls: Place oreo cookies in a food processor, mix until finely ground. Place into a bowl and mix with cream cheese until dough is firm. Take 1 tablespoon of dough and roll into a ball. Continue making dough balls of which you should end up with 36.
3. Cookies: With a large cookie scoop, scoop dough onto parchment lined baking sheet. Press a little hole in the center of dough and put your oreo truffle inside of cookie. Cover cookie around the oreo truffle so it is hidden in the middle.
4. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until edges of cookies just begin to turn golden brown. Remove and let cool on a baking sheet before transferring to cooling rack. This should make 36 cookies.

2. Shape into 48 (1-inch) balls. Using two forks, carefully dip truffle in melted chocolate and roll in remaining cookie crumbs. The easiest way to do this is by filling a shallow bowl with cookie crumbs. Drop the dipped ball into it and then roll it around until it’s completely coated. Place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet.
3. Gently break the pretzels in half and insert in the sides of the truffle to create the antlers. Carefully dip the Red Hot in melted chocolate and add for the cute red nose. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
