This is great on grilled hot dogs. The original recipe hails from Coney Island, NY where hot dogs by the beach are served with a similar sauce topping.

CONEY ISLAND HOT DOGS
The story of how the Coney Island hog dog got to the Midwest is pretty straightforward, but no one really knows exactly how the wiener first came to be topped with what is basically a hot meat relish. I have no idea how authentic this is, and have never been to Detroit, or even Flint. I have had Nathan's® version, which I enjoyed, but the word on the street is that it's not nearly as good as the relatives it spawned.

CONEY ISLAND SAUCE FOR HOT DOGS
This is great on hot dogs, especially grilled ones. Sometimes when my garden overfloweth with peppers I will add one or two of those as well. Hot sauce added is a great addition for those that like a good kick, but leave it out for the littles or those who don't care for the hot. this is best the nexted day once it has been reheated . Please note that I called for 1 cup of water, however if you want it thicker you may reduce the water to 1/2 cup.
