Steps:
- Combine the cake mix and soda, then bake according to the cake mix baking instructions (do not add the additional ingredients on the box--just the soda). Recommended combinations: spice cake and ginger ale, vanilla cake and orange soda and chocolate cake and cherry soda.

- For each serving, place 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup in a 16-oz. glass. Stir in 1 tablespoon of whipped cream and 1-1/4 cups water until foamy. Add two scoops of ice cream. Top with additional whipped cream if desired.

COLA CAKE
This recipe uses a can of soda instead of the oil, water, and eggs added to packaged cake recipes. Cake comes out surprisingly fluffy and moist with a slight kick to it that people love. Experiment with different flavored sodas for slightly differing tastes.

- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Combine the cake mix and cola in a large bowl. Use a hand whisk to mix ingredients until light and smooth, about 3 minutes. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
- Bake cake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Allow cake to cool before cutting.

CHOCOLATE SODA CAKE
Vegan. Two ingredients. Low fat. Can you get any better? If you want a vanilla cake or any other cake that's light in colour, do the same thing but use a lemon lime soda or clear birch beer. I suppose you could get creative with this, using cherry, orange, or any other flavoured soda, but this I'll leave that up to you:)

- Mix dry cake mix with soda. Don't pay any attention to adding oil, egg, etc.
- Pour into floured cake pans, Bundt pan, muffin tins, etc.
- Bake according to directions on box.
MRS. SCOTT'S CHOCOLATE VINEGAR CAKE
A wonderful, easy, moist, eggless chocolate cake recipe that my mother acquired from a dear friend of hers. The vinegar reacts with the soda, so there is no vinegary taste leftover as long as you use the right amounts of vinegar and baking soda. Fabulous with a rich, fudgy frosting, such as a chocolate sour cream frosting. Time doesn't include cooling time, so be sure to allow a couple-few hours to cool before frosting. Note: I usually bake this in a Pyrex tempered glass pan, and then I frost and serve it right in the pan. If you are planning to remove it from the pan before frosting and/or serving it, it may work better to lightly grease the pan and dust it with cocoa before you pour the batter in (thanks, I'mPat!).

CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD DIET SODA CAKE
I absolutely LOVE chocolate, yet I am always looking for diet recipes. This has it all, almost all of it is diet, yet is is so unbelievably full of chocolate, its great! You can adapt this so many ways as well...use different pudding types, cake mixes etc. I will always go for all chocolate though!

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Put dry cake mix into a mixing bowl.
- Add egg whites and diet coke. DO NOT add oil, or anything else from cake mix package.
