"Everyone loves this meal, particularly our grandchildren," says Arlene Best of East Ridge, Tennessee. Frozen breaded chicken and canned pineapple make this dish a snap to prepare, and its sweet tangy taste keeps them asking for more.

1 medium green pepper, cut into chunks
1 large onion, cut into wedges
1 to 2 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth
1/2 cup pancake syrup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 can (8 ounces) pineapple chunks
2 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch
20 pieces breaded chicken nuggets, thawed
Hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute green pepper and onion in oil until crisp-tender; remove and keep warm. Add the broth, syrup, vinegar and soy sauce to the skillet; bring to a boil., Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set pineapple aside. Combine cornstarch and juice until smooth; gradually add to broth mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened., Add chicken nuggets; cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the pineapple and sauteed vegetables; heat through. Serve over rice.

100g chicken
30g pineapple
1/4 green pepper
500g oil
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons Sugar
50g water
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Chicken Essence

Steps:

  • Prepare chicken cut into pieces, green pepper cut into pieces
  • Coat the chicken nuggets with a layer of metropolitan starch, add enough oil to the pan, fry the chicken nuggets until golden brown and remove them for later use
  • Mix the sauce and stir well
  • Leave the bottom oil in the pot and keep stirring the sauce until it is thick
  • Finally add green pepper and pineapple
  • Add chicken pieces and stir fry evenly

1 (14 ounce) package extra-firm tofu
3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
¾ cup dry fine whole-wheat bread crumbs
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled
olive oil cooking spray
½ cup smooth Dijon mustard
¼ cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons canola oil

Steps:

  • Hold tofu over the sink and gently squeeze out moisture. Blot surface dry with a paper towel (do not press). Slice tofu crosswise into 6 rectangular slabs. Slice slabs in half to create 12 squares, then cut squares in half diagonally to create 24 triangles.
  • Pour soy sauce on a plate. Mix together bread crumbs, onion powder, garlic powders, and thyme on a second plate. Set out a third plate. Dip each tofu piece in soy sauce, turning to coat; dredge in bread-crumb mixture, sprinkling tops with mixture and turning to coat. Set coated tofu on third plate.
  • Spray a large cast-iron or nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-low heat. Working in batches of about 8 pieces, cook tofu, flipping with a thin spatula and spraying skillet between batches, until crisp and browned on most sides, about 5 minutes per batch.
  • For the dipping sauce, stir mustard, syrup, and oil together with a fork in a small bowl until smooth. If too thick, stir in warm water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until pourable.

2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
6 chicken breast halves, skinned and boned
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup peanut oil

1 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoons prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Combine 1 cup pineapple juice and sugar in a small saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. - Combine cornstarch and 1/4cup pineapple juice; stir into pineapple juice mixture in saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in pineapple, vinegar, and mustard. - Serve sauce warm or cold with Chicken Nuggets. Yield: 1 3/4 cups.
