1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ cup BBQ sauce
1 onion
8 cheddar cheeses, cubed
2 cups flour
5 eggs
3 cups panko breadcrumbs
oil, for frying

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, add ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and BBQ sauce. Mix well.
  • Slice onions into ½-inch (1 ¼-cm) thick slices. Take the outer layer off and separate each layer of the rings.
  • Fill the onion slice with a spoonful of meat. Place cheese cube in the middle and add a little more meat to cover the cheese.
  • Dredge the onion ring and fry in oil heated at 325°F (160°C) for 3-5 minutes or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • Serve with your favorite sauce.
  • Enjoy!

1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large onion
4 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into squares
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 large egg, lightly beaten
1-1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
Oil for deep-fat frying
Spicy ketchup, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine beef, ketchup, mustard and salt, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Cut onion into 1/2-in. slices; separate into rings. Fill 8 slices with half of the beef mixture (save remaining onion rings for another use). Top each with a piece of cheese and remaining beef mixture. , In a shallow bowl, mix flour and garlic powder. Place bread crumbs and eggs in separate shallow bowls. Dip filled onion rings in flour to coat both sides; shake off excess. Dip in egg, then in bread crumbs, patting to help coating adhere., In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°. Fry onion rings, a few at a time, until golden brown and a thermometer inserted into beef reads 160°, 2-3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. If desired, serve with spicy ketchup.

2 lb ground beef
¼ cup worcestershire
¼ cup dijon mustard
½ tablespoon salt
½ tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 lb bacon, cut in half
8 rolls
1 cup lettuce, chopped
1 tomato, sliced
1 ½ cups milk, divided
2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ cup green chilli
¼ cup dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375˚F (190˚C).
  • In a bowl, add the ground beef, worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix to combine.
  • Transfer to a wire rack on a sheet pan. Create a ring shape with the meat mixture, gently pressing it flat until it's 2 inches (5 cm) thick.
  • Place each piece of bacon around the meat ring tucking the bacon underneath.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then broil 15-20 minutes on high heat until bacon is crisp.
  • In a saucepan, add ½ cup (120 ml) of milk and flour on medium heat, whisking until thickened and pulling away from pan.
  • Pour in the rest of the milk and add the salt, stir until bubbling and thickened about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cheese, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, green chilies, and Dijon mustard. Transfer to a ramekin or bowl. Set aside.
  • Arrange the bottom rolls in a circle. Place meat ring on top of buns. Add lettuce and tomato on top of the meat ring then place the top part of the buns around the top of the meat ring.
  • Place fondue in the center of the meat ring. Slice and serve immediately.
  • Enjoy!

1 large white onion, or large yellow onion
1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs, or panko bread crumbs (50 g)
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
3 large eggs, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
dipping sauce, of your choice, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425˚F (220˚C). Grease a baking sheet with nonstick spray or line with parchment paper.
  • Cut the onion crosswise into ½-inch (1 cm) slices and gently push apart each layer to get individual rings. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Add the eggs to a separate large bowl. Add the flour to a third large bowl.
  • Dredge the onion rings in the flour, then the eggs, then finally in the bread crumb mixture, making sure to coat all sides.
  • Arrange the onion rings on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
