BUSY MOM PEACH COBBLER

Busy Mom Peach Cobbler image

This yummy cobbler recipe has been in my family (and probably most southern families) for ages. I have added and taken away a few things over the years, but I love it any way I make it.

½ cup butter
1 (16 ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup white sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste
1 cup 2% milk
2 tablespoons white sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Put the butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish and place in the oven to melt while you prepare the remaining ingredients.

Whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Stir in the milk until the mixture is just moistened. Pour into the hot baking dish over the butter. Spoon the peach slices and most of the syrup over the batter.

BUSY DAY COBBLER

Busy Day Cobbler image

I found this as a JAP orphan recipe while looking at cobbler recipes. I felt like it needed an owner. How did it lose it's mom? I found out that when this site was new some recipes were added that did not have an owner associated with them. Sounds like a yummy recipe. I found a pic for it until I make it.

BUSY DAY COBBLER

A FABULOUS recipe for fruit cobbler! The best part about it is that you can choose the fruit; and if you don't have canned fruit on hand you can use 5 to 6 cups chopped, fresh fruit. The golden topping is delicious! We like to eat ours served hot with milk, but ice cream would probably be great, too. A dear friend shared this recipe several years ago, and we've been using it ever since. Just like the title suggests, it's also a great time-saver on a busy day!
