I made this signature cake for my son's girlfriend. She loves Twix candy bars. I know it's gonna be a hit!!

Ingredients

1 box(es) chocolate cake mix
3 - lg eggs
1/3 cup(s) butter, melted
1/2 cup(s) chocolate milk
1 small box of chocolate instant pudding
2 cup(s) sour cream
12 ounce(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 can(s) chocolate frosting
1 - family size bag of twix candy bars

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350F.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl except the candy bars. Mix on low to incorporate ingredients. Mix on medium high, scraping bowl. Mix for 2 1/2 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips. Batter will be very thick.
Prepare 2-9 inch pans with cooking spray. Divide the batter between both pans.
Cook for 35-40 or until tooth pick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes on a cooling rack. Turn over and cool completely.
Assembly: frost 1/2 the cake and place 1 cup of candy bar chopped. Place other layer on to cake doing the same with the chopped candy. Frost sides. Place a whole candy bar all around the cake leaving spaces. Keep in fridge...

Chocolate cake Grease two round 8-inch cake pans well with butter and line the bottom with baking or parchment paper. Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F) standard / 160 C (320 F) fan-forced.
In a large mixing bowl, add butter and sugars and beat with an electric mixer until pale and creamy.
Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, and continue to beat until mixture is combined and creamy. Boil the kettle and pour out 1/2 cup water and set aside.
In a separate bowl, sift plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda and lightly whisk.

Preheat your oven to 360 F (180 C). Grease and line two 8 inch round cake tins. In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda. Then add the sugars. Whisk together. In a separate mixing bowl, add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, vanilla and eggs. Whisk together.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Start to fold together, slowly pour in the hot water, and continue to mix until all the ingredients are incorporated. Divide the mixture into the two cake tins and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave for 10 minutes before gently removing the cakes from their tins and leave them to cool completely on a wire rack.
To make the frosting, add the butter to a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered or icing sugar and beat until smooth. Add the caramel sauce and continue to beat until creamy.
To frost the cakes, you may need to trim off the dome of the cakes using a large serrated knife or a cake cutter. Then, add half the frosting to the top of one chocolate cake and then add the other chocolate cake on top. Frost with the remainder of the caramel frosting. Finally, top with chopped Twix bars, crushed shortbread cookies and drizzle with any extra caramel sauce.
