BOW TIE AND PEPPERONI CASSEROLE

This is a really simple dish that can be made with things you have on hand or the things you like most on your pizza. I sometimes use canned tomatoes with their juices or just plain sauce. Experiment and have fun!

1 lb bow tie pasta
1/2 lb pepperoni, sliced thin
1 -2 clove garlic, minced
4 -5 tomatoes, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 -2 stalk celery, diced
1/2-1 teaspoon dry oregano
1/2-1 teaspoon dried coriander
1 lb mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup tomato juice
mushroom (optional)
olive (optional)
banana pepper (optional)
spinach (optional)
broccoli (optional)
sausage (optional)
different cheese (optional)
different spices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Cook noodles and set aside.
  • Put pepperoni in a fry pan and cook lightly until grease comes out, do not pour off grease.
  • Add garlic, tomatoes and the rest of the vegetables, cook for a couple minutes.
  • Add spices and stir around.
  • Put noodles in a 9" x 13" greased casserole dish.
  • Pour the tomatoes, pepperoni, cheese and tomato juice over noodles and stir lightly.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil and add more cheese if you like and bake for another 5 or 10 minutes, until cheese has browned.
  • Enjoy!

While I was recovering from surgery, a friend brought this over for dinner for us. We all enjoyed it but the kids really loved it. They bugged me until I got the recipe!

1 lb ground beef
1/2 small onion, diced
1 (28 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (4 ounce) can tomato sauce (don't have to add but sometimes the noodles need more sauce)
8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package pepperoni slices
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef and onion together in frying pan.
  • Drain fat.
  • Mix the spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce and beef together and then pour onto cooked noodles.
  • Stir well and layer in a greased casserole dish alternating with pepperoni slices and cheese.
  • Ending with a cheese layer.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

1 lb. bow tie pasta
1 lb. crumbled Italian sausage
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 medium onion,chopped
2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
1/2-1 lb of sliced pepperoni
3 (8 ounce) bags shredded mozzarella cheese
6 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to pkg directions. Cook sausage, garlic powder and oregano with onions until done. In a lightly greased 9x13 inch pan, pour a small amount of sauce to lightly coat bottom. Layer 1/3 of the pasta, 1/3 remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese, sausage and onions. Next layer 1/2 of the remaining pasta, 1/2 remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, and 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese Next layer all of the remaining pasta, all of the remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese, all of the pepperoni(completely covering the entire top with pepperoni). Bake at 375°F for 40 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

This is so delicious and quick. This is also great to take to a pot luck. This is very much kid friendly and taste very similar to a pizza.

16 ounces bow tie pasta
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package pepperoni
1 cup Italian salad dressing
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  • Add Bow Tie Pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or all dente; drain.
  • While pasta is boiling, brown pepperoni in skillet until crisp on both sides and place on paper towels to absorb the grease.
  • Toss pasta with pepperoni, italian dressing, parmesian cheese and italian seasoning.
