This rich and creamy blue cheese dressing is a bold topping for a simple green salad, and takes only seconds to make!

Ingredients

2 cups mayonnaise
1 ½ cups buttermilk
8 ounces Roquefort cheese, crumbled
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, buttermilk, cheese, Worcestershire and garlic powder, and process until smooth. Store in tightly covered jar in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve over tossed salad greens.

According to family legend, this recipe came from the El Gaucho restaurant in Seattle, about 50 years ago. It has been a family favorite ever since! It's a wonderful salad dressing, and a top-notch dip as well. Store in glass jars in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

5 cups mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 cup buttermilk
6 green onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
salt and ground black pepper to taste
5 ounces crumbled Roquefort cheese

Steps:

Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder together in a large bowl; season with salt and black pepper. Fold cheese into the mayonnaise mixture.

I like to make this dry mix to keep on hand in my pantry. It makes whipping up a fresh batch of ranch dressing quick and easy -- just add the mayo and buttermilk. This is an adaptation of recipe #47249

Ingredients

1/2 cup dried parsley flakes
2 teaspoons dill weed
8 teaspoons onion powder
8 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons ground pepper
8 teaspoons dried onion flakes

Steps:

Mix together all ingredients.
Store in a 1 cup canning jar or other airtight container.
When ready to make dressing, combine 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1 cup buttermilk, and 1 tablespoon dry dressing mix.
Whisk well.
Store in refrigerator.
