STARDEW VALLEY: 10 BEST MEALS FOR FISHING ENTHUSIASTS
From thegamer.com
- 11 Trout Soup. Last but not least is the Trout Soup, an early-game recipe that is useful for any level of player. It's made from one Green Algae and one Rainbow Trout.
- 11 Shrimp Cocktail. A well-rounded, versatile meal is the Shrimp Cocktail. This recipe is learned by watching The Queen of Sauce on the TV, and it's revealed on the 28th of Winter, Year 2.
- 11 Seafoam Pudding. While this is one of the more complex recipes to make, it provides a significant Fishing buff that's useful to any player with Fishing on their mind.
- 11 Lobster Bisque. Willy's ultimate Fishing recipe, Lobster Bisque, is as luxurious as it sounds. Received after reaching a whopping heart level of nine with Willy, this is one of his best-kept secrets.
- 11 Fried Eel. Fried Eel is a handy recipe gifted to players after reaching three heart levels with George. It's made from one Eel and one Oil – easy, basic, and simple.
- 11 Fish Taco. This recipe comes courtesy of Linus after reaching seven heart levels with him. Made out of one Tuna, one Tortilla, one Red Cabbage, and one Mayonnaise, it's not the handiest meal to prepare for, but it has its perks.
- 11 Fish Stew. Another recipe bestowed by Willy, Fish Stew is a great meal specifically for fishers with a big day ahead of them. It has a more extensive recipe which includes one Crayfish, one Mussel, one Periwinkle, and one Tomato.
- 11 Escargot. Maybe not for everyone in real life, Escargot is definitely for anyone who wants to excel at Fishing in Stardew Valley. Received from the local fisherman Willy after reaching five heart levels, this recipe is really easy.
- 11 Dish o' The Sea. Aptly named, the Dish o' The Sea is exactly that – the perfect Dish from the sea, for the sea. The recipe becomes available after reaching Level 3 in Fishing.
- 11 Chowder. The recipe for Chowder is available after reaching three heart levels with Willy, the local fishing connoisseur. It's incredibly easy to make; just combine a Clam and a jug of Milk in the kitchen to craft this replenishing meal.

TOP 15 BEST FISH FOR FISH POND IN STARDEW VALLEY - GUIDE
From stardewguide.com
- Rainbow Trout. Are you wondering why Rainbow Trout is first on the list? It’s effortless to catch and one of the most common River and Mountain Lake fish during Summer.
- Lava Eel. At the Mines’ near-scorching hot floor 100 lies a pool of hot magma where you can catch the Lava Eel. It has a mixed behavior complemented by its 90 difficulty – one of the hardest and almost the same difficulty for Legendaries.
- Stingray. This type of fish is one of the hardest to catch in Stardew Valley with Sinker behavior and 80 difficulty. However, you can only find them at the Pirate Cove – East from the Ginger Island Resort.
- Lionfish. Lionfish is another Ginger Island exclusive that you can catch from the West, South, and Southeast coasts. It’s easy to get one on your inventory, but it means lower profit that you can pocket.
- Spookfish. Spookfish is another marine animal you can spot underwater with the Fishing Submarine. It’s less challenging than other rare fishes, although there’s also a selling price advantage.
- Slimejack. Will you eat a fish from the Sewers, or would you keep them at a Fish Pond instead? It’s not the most priced nor gives loads of restoration effects, but Slimejack fills the Fish Pond every three days.
- Blobfish. The hatch at the Fishing Submarine is also the place to catch Blobfish. This floater sells high, with prices reaching 500g – 1,5000g each! However, the difficulty and behavior are slightly hard, but they’ll be more predictable after some practice.
- Midnight Squid. Winter 15 to 17 is when multiple merchant boats and vessels visit the Docks. The Night Market’s official opening begins from 5pm – 2am.
- Sturgeon. Spoiler: Fetching a Sturgeon is the key to making a Caviar for the Missing Bundle in Stardew Valley. The progress for that sweet Movie Theater is challenging, but catching the fish is harder.
- Ice Pip. Descending 60 floors in the Mines is another body of water similar to the one 40 levels above. Albeit existing in a snowy temperature, a rare Ice Pip thrives that you can catch at any time, season, and weather.

- Stingray. The Stingray is one of the new fish available to catch on Ginger Island. They can only be found in the pirate cove and they’re pretty hard to catch.
- Lava Eel. The Lava Eel is a great fish to add to your pond. They’re found in the lava lake level of the mines, and while they can be a nightmare to catch, a pond filled with Lava Eels has some pretty sweet benefits.
- Blobfish. The Blobfish is absolutely the ugliest fish in the game apart from the Mutant Carp and the Glacier Fish. They’re also one of the ugliest fish in real life (Pro-Tip: don’t look up deep sea fish late at night if you plan to sleep).
- Spook Fish. We’re going from the prettiest fish to one of the ugliest. The Spook Fish is one of the more rare fish to come across because you can only find it when you take the submarine at the Night Market to do some deep sea fishing.
- Blue Discus. The Blue Discus is one of the easier fish to catch on Ginger Island. They’re one of the prettiest fish in the game IMHO and they can produce some pretty cool items in the ponds.
- Ice Pip. The Ice Pip is one of the fish that can be found in the mines. Like the name implies, they’re caught from the lake on the ice level. They can be pretty tricky to catch, but their pond items make them well worth the trouble.
- Sturgeon. The Sturgeon is one of the few fish that you need to place in a pond to complete the game. Caviar, the preserved roe from the Sturgeon is needed to complete the Missing Bundle in the abandonned Joja Mart (or the abandonned Community Center if you’re one of those evil JojaBots.
- Octopus. The Octopus is another extremely difficult catch! They only appear during the Summer and can be a nightmare when they’re on your hook. Once in your pond though, they’ll be an easy catch anytime you need one.
- Rainbow Trout. One of the easier fish on this list to catch, the Rainbow Trout is a great addition to any pond. Like their name implies, they have a chance to produce rainbow themed items in the pond bucket along with their roe.
- Sea Cucumber. The Sea Cucumber is one of the few fish that I recommend just because you will want to have a constant supply of them around. As one of the ingredients in the Lucky Lunch dish, these guys are invaluable.
