Beef Patties With Beefy Mushroom Gravy Recipes
BEEF PATTIES WITH BEEFY MUSHROOM GRAVY
Do you like recipes with a short list of ingredients? Here is a quick and easy, delicious beef patty dish that fits the bill. I found this recipe in a magazine many years ago, and have made it numerous times. Please don't substitute any other soup as it will just not be the same, this one is special! Also, don't add salt - it is not needed. The original recipe called for topping the patties with canned French Fried onions, if desired. I do not usually do this, but you might like them that way.

Steps:
- Add the egg and bread crumbs to the ground beef and mix well.
- Shape into 4 to 6 patties.
- Brown both sides in ungreased skillet, over medium heat, not cooking them completely here.
- Drain off the fat.
- Spoon over the patties the undiluted Beefy-Mushroom soup.
- Cover the skillet and simmer a few minutes, spooning the gravy over the patties occasionally.
- Note: Sometimes I use only 1 lb of ground beef and make 4 patties. This is the only change I make.

A friend and I discovered this recipe together and both consider it a staple menu item. I fix the moist, mild-tasting patties often for family and friends. We love them with mashed potatoes, rice or noodles and the gravy, which gets great flavor from fresh mushrooms.

- In a bowl, beat the egg; stir in onions, bread crumbs and mustard. Add beef and mix well. Shape into four 1/2-in.-thick patties. , In an ungreased skillet, cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink; drain. , In a small bowl, combine gravy, water and horseradish; add mushrooms. Pour over patties. Cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender and heated through.

- Mix together the beef, minced onion, beef bouillon granules, flour, egg, garlic, oregano and pepper and form into 4 patties about 1" thick.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add patties and cook until you have nice golden brown crust on both sides about 5 minutes per side; remove patties from skillet and set aside.
- Prepare gravy by adding the mushrooms and garlic to skillet and cook while scrapping up the browned bits until mushrooms start to soften and sweat, about 5 minutes.
- In a large measuring cup, whisk the remaining gravy ingredients together, return the patties to skillet. and pour in the beef stock mixture and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 stirring every so often so it doesn’t bubble over. (The sauce may have a frothy texture at first but that will disappear while simmering).
