I make this creamy potato salad with cheese, bacon and ranch salad dressing. My sister asked for the recipe as soon as she tried it. -Lynn Breunig, Wind Lake, Wisconsin

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 pounds red potatoes
1 bottle (8 ounces) ranch salad dressing
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 package (2.8 ounces) bacon bits
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Dash garlic powder

Steps:

  • Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until tender, 20-25 minutes., In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients (dressing will be thick). Drain potatoes and cut into cubes; add to the dressing and gently toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until chilled. Refrigerate leftovers.

This is the easiest recipe because it can be altered in so many ways. Add a little taco seasoning to spice it up -- or you can add other veggies for texture.

2 pounds red potatoes, cut into bite-size pieces
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1 ¼ cups cooked bacon, crumbled
1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 bunches green onions, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Place the potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain, then run under cold water until cool.
  • Combine the sour cream and ranch dressing mix in a small bowl until well-blended. Transfer the potatoes, bacon, Cheddar cheese, and green onions to a large bowl. Stir in the sour cream mixture until well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving.

A creamy and delicious potato salad with amazing ranch flavor and bacon! This is the perfect side to take to a potluck and is sure to be a huge hit!

2 pounds potatoes (cut into bite-sized pieces)
1 container sour cream (16 oz.)
1 package ranch dressing mix (1 oz. )
1 1/4 cups bacon (cooked and crumbled)
1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese (shredded)
2 bunches green onions (thinly sliced)

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to boil over high heat add the potatoes and reduce the heat to medium high and boil for 12-15 minutes or until fork tender. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the sour cream and ranch packet until blended. In a large bowl, add potatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese and green onions. Stir in the sour cream ranch mixture until blended and coated well. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

This great picnic or BBQ salad is a huge hit! It came together by accident when I had run out of sour cream one day. The bacon and ranch really take it up a notch! It is even better if you make it a day ahead and allow the flavours to blend.

3 lbs small red potatoes
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
1 large kosher dill pickle, chopped
3 hardboiled egg, finely chopped
3 tablespoons bacon bits
3 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
3 pinches paprika

Steps:

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water for 20-30 minutes, until fork tender.
  • while the potatoes are boiling chop the dill, vegetables, pickle and eggs.
  • drain and cool the potatoes and cut into halves or quarters.
  • In a bowl combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch dressing and vinegar.
  • Gently toss the potatoes, vegetables, pickle, egg, dill, dressing and bacon bits. When thoroughly combined sprinkle with paprika.
  • cover and chill and serve cold.
