BABY FINGER FOOD - CHOPPED CHICKEN FINGERS W/ APPLES

Baby Finger Food - Chopped Chicken Fingers W/ Apples image

This one is awesome! My son loves them and they're easily made ahead and frozen (which I love). I found the recipe on homemade-baby-food-recipes.com and I'm posting here for safe keeping. It is recommended for babies that are 8 months and older, but they also advise speaking to your pediatrician before starting your baby on solids. Also, remember to follow the RULE OF FOUR (wait 4 days after introducing new foods) and make sure your baby has had no allergic reactions to any of the foods in this recipe before serving it!

ZUCCHINI PEA AND RICE BALLS- BABY FINGER FOOD

Zucchini Pea and Rice Balls- Baby Finger Food image

Still on my quest for foods that my 10 month old will eat! These balls were a hit last night! I also tried baking some of them, but he preferred the mushy consistency!* based on the one star review i attempted this again for my second child. if made with infant formula this works great! be sure to squeeze all the liquid from the zucchini. i also added blueberries to sweeten the taste. if it seems to runny...add more wheat flour to find the right consistency.

CHICKEN APPLE CASSEROLE

Chicken Apple Casserole image

This recipe was inspired one evening when concocting homemade baby food for my son. After sampling a chicken and apple blend- I thought why haven't I ever eaten these two together before? This recipe adds ginger for a zesty compliment to the sweetness of the apples, along with a medley of other 'sweet' veggies. Low fat, healthy and delicious.

CROCK POT CANDIED SWEET POTATOES W/ APPLES

Crock Pot Candied Sweet Potatoes W/ Apples image

I came up with the recipe as a variation on my mom's recipe (Recipe #399245 ). This one uses fresh sweet potatoes and it is cooked in a crock pot so you have more time to fix other dishes during busy holiday dinners. I also cut back slightly on the maple syrup to cut some sweetness and added pumpkin pie spice for some depth.

Provided by PSU Lioness

Categories     Yam/Sweet Potato

Time 5h20m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 medium sweet potatoes
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup butter
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
2 granny smith apples (you can omit or add more to your liking)

Steps:

  • Wash and peel sweet potatoes. Cut into eighths.
  • Place sweet potatoes in crock pot.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar over potatoes.
  • Drizzle syrup over brown sugar.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over top.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours, stirring once an hour.
  • Peel, core and slice the apples into eighths (for smaller apples) or sixteenths (for larger apples). Add to crock pot and stir.
  • Cover and cook an additional 2 hours or until sweet potatoes and apples are tender. Stop cooking and remove from crock pot if sweet potatoes seem like they are getting mushy. Sometimes they get done more quickly than others.

Baby Finger Food - Apple Turkey Loaf or Sticks image

I found this recipe on wholesomebabyfood.com and I am posting it for safe keeping. It is recommended for babies that are 6 months and older, but they also advise speaking to your pediatrician before starting your baby on solids. Also, remember to follow the RULE OF FOUR (wait 4 days after introducing new foods) and make sure your baby has had no allergic reactions to any of the foods in this recipe before serving it!

Provided by PSU Lioness

Categories     Meatloaf

Time 55m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb ground turkey
1 eggs or 2 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 cup carrot, pureed (baby food works well)
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup wheat bran (unprocessed and natural) or 1/4 cup oat bran (unprocessed and natural)

1 pinch garlic powder

Steps:

  • Place ground turkey in a large mixing bowl.
