Steps:
- Brown ground beef. Set on paper towel lined plate to drain.
- Brown bacon pieces.
- Sautee the onion and garlic in bacon drippings.
- Mix together the brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, and dry mustard in a big aluminum pan.
- Add the beans, ground beef and bacon pieces.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
- You can adjust the amount of ketchup to your taste. I use between 3/4 and 1 cup.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Set aside mini muffin tin with 48 cups, do not grease.
- Combine all of the filling ingredients in a bowl and mix until well blended, then set aside.
- Prepare the dough by mixing all of the pastry ingredients using a mixer, until the ingredients come together and form a smooth dough.
- Using a small ice cream scoop, divide the dough equally into the 48 mini ungreased muffin cups.
- Using a Mini-Tart Shaper or a spoon, press the balls of dough to form a tart shell by pusing the dough into the bottom and sides of the cups.
- Fill the dough with the prepared filling until about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the filling puffs up and the dough is golden in colour.
- Dust with icing sugar once cooled.

THE REAL ITALIAN BISCOTTI
This is my mom's recipe for biscotti. They never last more than a few days after she makes them. I'm biased, but they are the BEST!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In mixer beat eggs and anise flavoring together for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar.
- Mix in the Crisco until it turns into small pieces.
- Add the egg mixture and combine (dough will be thick and sticky).
- Lightly grease cookie sheet.
- Roll dough into logs approximately the length of your cookie sheet, 1 1/2 inches thick and 1 inch high.
- Place logs on the greased cookie sheet about 4 inches apart.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Remove from oven and slice diagonally.
- Lay cut side down in tray and bake about 10 more minutes.
- I have put almonds or walnuts (coarsely chopped) in batter and they do taste good., but I have found that if I put the nuts in dry mixture and then add the egg mixture it is so much easier.

These additive Italian cookies are meant for dunking, but are good just eaten alone. The word "biscotti" refers to their preparation--they are twice baked. They are just wonderful.

Steps:
- In a large mixer bowl combine the eggs, egg whites, vanilla, and anise; mix until well-combined.
- Add the sugar, flour, soda, and salt; beat until a dough forms.
- Add the nuts.
- Turn the sticky dough onto a lightly floured board; knead several times.
- Divide the dough in half.
- With floured hands, form the dough into two flattish logs, about 15" long by 2" wide.
- Place the logs about 3" apart on a baking sheet that has been sprayed lighted with cooking spray.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Remove and cool for 10 minutes.
- Reduce oven to 275 degrees.
- On a cutting board, cut the logs diagonally into 3/4" thick slices.
- Arrange the slices on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes; turn and bake another 10-12 minutes.
- Turn heat off and leave biscotti to crisp in the oven for another 15 minutes.
- Remove and cool completely.

- Cream together the sugar and crisco.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Add Anise (or lemon) extract, salt, baking powder and milk.
- Add flour 1/2 cup at-a-time and mix together.
- Grease a cookie sheet and, using a large soup spoon, make a line of dough.
- Smooth dough to connect each mound to make one loaf.
- Bake at 350 degrees till lightly browned.
- Approximately 15 minutes.
- Frosting:.
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Frosting should not be thin, nor thick, but an oozing consistency.

Steps:
- Cream butter and sugar.
- add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
- Add vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and ad slowly to creamed mixture.
- Stir in lemon and orange peels, anise seeds and nuts and blend well.
- divide dough into 3 parts and shape each into long roll about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- Place rolls on cookie sheet several inches apart and flatten rolls somewhat.
- Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
- Remove and slice rolls crosswise 3/4 inches.
- Lay cut side down and bake additional 7 minutes.
- Flip to other side of cookie and bake another 7 minutes.
- Makes approx 4 dozen biscotti. ENJOY!
- Freezes well.
- Note: If you want sweeter, increase sugar to 1 full cup.
