I love having finger foods on hand when I have company or throwing a party. Its fast & easy & everyone loves them.

1 c honey bbq sauce
4-1/2 tsp soy sauce, low sodium
1/2 tsp ginger, ground
1/4 tsp garlic powder
16 chicken drummettes ( 1-1/2 lbs.)

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the grill to medium heat.
  • 2. Next mix all the ingredients but the chicken.
  • 3. Then grill the chicken for about 15 mins or until done. make sure to turn & brush occasionally with the sauce mixutre.
  • 4. Special Tip: Save some sacue on the side & heat for dipping.

I got this from Kraft Food and Family Cookbook. This isn't a weight watcher recipe. However, I always like putting the weight watcher points for me,regardless of how high they are. Weight Watcher Points: 4

1 c kraft honey barbecue sauce
4 1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp garlic powder
16 chicken drummettes

Steps:

  • 1. Heat greased grill to medium heat.
  • 2. Mix all ingredients except chicken.
  • 3. Grill chicken 15 minutes or until done, turning and brushing occasionally with barbecue sauce mixture.
  • 4. MY CHANGE: I like to marinate the chicken in the sauce for 24 hours and then bake (bone-in thighs) in oven at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes.

I switched out pork ribs for chicken. From Quick and Simple February 2006. Serve with a tossed green salad and jasmine rice! Mmm!

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 teaspoons honey, slightly warmed
2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
1/4 cup ketchup
1 garlic clove, peeled and finely minced
1 inch piece fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/8-1/4 fluid ounce black vinegar (splash) or 1/8-1/4 fluid ounce Worcestershire sauce (splash)
black pepper, to taste
8 -10 chicken drummettes (or 8 pork ribs)
sesame seeds (white or black)
green onion, white and green parts, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine all the marinade ingredients except for chicken. Stir well to combine.
  • Add the chicken and mix well to coat.
  • Transfer mixture to a sturdy "ziploc" plastic bag and refrigerate. Best prepared early in the day or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Lay drumettes out in a roasting pan and bake for approximately 40 minutes or until charred but not blackened! Watch oven {{carefully}} to avoid burning the chicken!
  • Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds and green onion slices.
  • As a main dish, this will serve 2 people.

Baked Asian-Style Honey Chicken image

A marinade of honey, ginger, soy sauce, onion and garlic give this chicken dish an authentic Asian flavor without a lot of fuss.

1 (3 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons honey
¼ cup chopped green onions

Steps:

  • To Marinate: Arrange chicken pieces in a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a small bowl combine the onion, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and honey; mix together and spoon mixture over chicken. Cover dish and refrigerate to marinate for 1 hour, turning pieces once.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Bake chicken at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Turn pieces over and top with green onion, then continue baking for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until chicken is tender and cooked through and juices run clear. Serve immediately.
