6 cups coarsely chopped peeled apples (6 medium)
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quarts) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In baking dish, mix chopped apples, sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly in pan. Top with dry cake mix; gently shake pan to distribute evenly. Pour melted butter over top, tilting pan to cover as much of the top with butter as possible.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until top is light golden brown, mostly dry on top and bubbly around edges. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

Co workers request this often. It is so easy I can bake it before work and take it while it is still warm. If you like coffee, it's great with your morning cup. Credit goes to "Thank You apple pie filling" I found this on the top of the can many years ago. My friend doesn't like apple cakes but asked for seconds of this.

1 yellow cake mix (cheaper the better)
2 large eggs
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
cinnamon-sugar mixture

Steps:

  • Pour the dry cake mix in a bowl.
  • Add eggs and apple pie filling (guess you could use other flavors as well).
  • Mix with mixer for 2 minutes.
  • Pour 1/2 the batter in a lightly greased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mix.
  • Repeat with remaining batter and end with.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
1 cup canola oil
4 large eggs, room temperature
3 tablespoons orange juice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large bowl, toss apples with brown sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon., In another large bowl, beat 1 cup sugar, oil, eggs, orange juice and vanilla until well blended. In a third bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt; gradually beat into sugar mixture., Transfer half the batter to an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. Top with apples. Spread remaining batter over apples. Mix remaining cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over top. Bake 10 minutes., Reduce oven setting to 375°. Bake until golden brown and apples are tender, 35-45 minutes. 4 large eggs, room temperature
2/3 cup canola oil

GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 to 2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 10-in. fluted tube pan. Combine cake mix, pie filling, eggs and oil; beat on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium 2 minutes. 2 teaspoons Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
1/2 cup butter OR margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract

Steps:

  • To make cake: Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine granulated sugar, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl. In a separate mixing bowl, combine eggs, apples, oil and vanilla. Add mixture to the dry ingredients, and stir just until well mixed. Batter will be thick. Pour cake batter into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. To make Caramel Sauce: Combine butter, sugars, and evaporated milk in medium saucepan over medium high heat. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil for 1 minute. Add cinnamon and vanilla. Cool. Cut cake and serve with caramel sauce. If desired, top with ice cream or whipped topping.
