This Air Fryer Steak is impeccably seared on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. Cooking steak in an air fryer will create extra flavor and a delicate texture to truly satisfy!

1-2 Ribeye (New York, or Tri Tip Steaks (1 inch thick))
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
salt and pepper
1/4 cup butter (softened)
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 teaspoon fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Prepare the steaks by rubbing olive oil on each side. Rub the Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper on each side.
  • Add the steak to the air fryer basket and cook for 12 minutes, turning over ager 6 minutes for medium. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes and top with garlic butter.

2 rib-eye steaks, cut 1 1/2- inch thick
4 teaspoons grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning®)
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce

Steps:

  • Combine steaks, soy sauce, olive oil, and seasoning in a large resealable bag. Marinate meat for at least 2 hours.
  • Remove steaks from bag and discard the marinade. Pat excess oil off the steaks.
  • Add about 1 tablespoon water to the bottom of the air fryer pan to prevent it from smoking during the cooking process.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Add steaks to air fryer and cook for 7 minutes. Turn steaks and cook for another 7 minutes until steak is medium rare. For a medium steak, increase the total cook time to 16 minutes, flipping steak after 8 minutes.
  • Remove steaks, keep warm, and let sit for about 4 minutes before serving.

  • Sprinkle the steaks with salt and pepper, place on a plate and refrigerate for 2-3 days, uncovered. Flip every 12 hours or so, blotting the juices with a paper towel. This step is recommended for superior tenderness and enhanced flavor, but you can skip it if pressed for time.
  • Remove the steaks from the fridge 45-60 minutes before cooking and let them sit at room temperature.
  • Brush the steaks with melted butter on both sides, place on the rack of your air fryer. Cook at 410F for 15 minutes, without pre-heating, for medium doneness. Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes less for medium rare and rare respectively, and 1-2 minutes more for medium-well and well done respectively. The times will need to be adjusted further if air frying steaks thicker or thinner than 1.25" thick. These cooking times are approximate, so use an instant read thermometer in conjunction with the table in the Notes section.
  • Remove steaks from the air fryer, wrap in foil or wax paper, and let rest for 10 minutes, then serve. Try serving with compound butter, it will add a ton of flavor.
